Too bad that extra bit of plastic wasn’t added to the nearly-impossible-to-operate-from-a-firing-grip safety. Hi-Point calls it the “quick on/off thumb safety.”. The Hi-Point Model C-9 is a polymer-framed, semi-automatic, blowback-operated pistol manufactured by Hi-Point Firearms. It is chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum and is rated to accept +P ammunition. It became well known for its low retail price of under $200. An improved model, the YC9, was originally expected for release by late 2024, but it is still not available as of 2024.

I like what I've read about Hi Point handguns, and liked the feel of the c9 in my hand. At the range today, I used the C9 8-shot mag in the 709. I ran it twice (8 rds each) without a hitch except it does not activte last round slide open.
